Hawai‘i REALTORS® Names Moana Andersen REALTOR® of the Year

HONOLULU, Hawai‘i (Aug. 4, 2020) — Hawai‘i REALTORS®, a leading statewide professional trade organization for the real estate industry, has named Moana Andersen the 2020 Hawai‘i REALTOR® of the Year.

Each year since 1967 the award has recognized an outstanding REALTOR® in Hawai‘i for work in the interest of fellow REALTORS®, the profession and the community.
“Moana upholds the highest ethical and professional standards of Hawai‘i REALTORS®, and we are proud to recognize her extensive industry experience and volunteer service with this prestigious award,” said Jack Legal, president of Hawai‘i REALTORS®.

Andersen has more than three decades of real estate experience, currently serving as a REALTOR® broker and the founder of Equity One Real Estate, Inc. on Maui. She was the 2016 president of Hawai‘i REALTORS® and the 2003 president of the REALTORS® Association of Maui, where she was named the association’s REALTOR® Broker of the Year in 1999.

Andersen is president of the Hawai‘i REALTORS® Charitable Foundation, launched earlier this year with a $50,000 donation to food banks throughout Hawai‘i. The foundation serves communities throughout Hawai‘i by supporting charitable organizations and their efforts to assist those in need.

“It is an honor to join such an accomplished group of REALTORS®,” Andersen said. “Our work as REALTORS® has never been more important as we come together to serve our communities and provide trusted advisement in these uncertain times.”
Andersen’s previous experience includes serving for 5 years as an appointed planning commissioner for Maui County. Andersen was raised on the Island of Hawai‘i and O‘ahu and moved to Maui more than 40 years ago, where she and her husband Erik founded the award-winning Maui Estate Coffee farm.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Hawai‘i. She has formally graduated as a Kumu Hula and is a classically trained pianist.
