HAR’s Broker Awareness courses are tailored for agents interested in, or in the process of becoming a managing broker or opening their own practice. These industry leaders are held to higher standards by their peers, agents, and the public. These courses are also excellent refreshers for managing brokers of the breadth and depth of their responsibilities.
Created to reinforce the elevated responsibilities of Hawaiʻi real estate brokers, this Broker Awareness Part 1 course reviews the laws, administrative rules, and ethical standards that guide professional conduct and supervision within brokerage practice. Key topics include statutory and ethical obligations, items of heightened significance for broker licensees, supervisory duties, and risk management considerations for compliant and responsible operations. The course promotes stronger professional judgement and enhances a broker's ability to oversee transactions and associated licensees with confidence and integrity. A broker's license is not required to attend, and the Broker Awareness courses may be taken in any order.

Instruction covers office management requirements, policy manual development, supervisory obligations, everyday management considerations, and best practices for reducing liability. This course reinforces leadership capability and expands the operational knowledge required to maintain a well-run, compliant brokerage. A broker's license is not required to attend, and the Broker Awareness courses may be taken in any order.
We would like to inform our members that the GRI Designation Program will sunset in Hawai'i on December 31, 2025. This decision was made after thorough research and evaluation as part of our ongoing efforts to refine and enhance our education services. For our GRI candidates currently pursuing the designation, the final deadline to submit applications is December 19, 2025.
