The REALTOR® Trademark
The term REALTOR® is more than just a trademark owned by the National Association of REALTORS® and protected by federal law. It’s a valuable membership benefit that lets people know that you are more than just a real estate licensee: you adhere to a strict Code of Ethics that protects clients, the public, and other real estate agents.
Only members can use the REALTOR® trademark, and should do so with pride! However, to ensure that the valuable REALTOR® trademark is protected, make sure to use the term properly.

Becoming a Member
If you are a real estate licensee and want to become a REALTOR®, first you must place your license with a broker who is a member. Once you have established your affiliation with a REALTOR® broker, contact a Local Board to join. Then, you will become a member of the Hawai‘i Association of REALTORS®and the National Association of REALTORS®.
