2011 REALTOR® of the Year: Felix Osorno

Felix Osorno, GRI, Broker, Felcon Enterprises, Ltd, was named the 2011 REALTOR® of the Year by the Hawai'i Association of REALTORS® at the Hawaii 5.0 Real Estate Convention on September 16, 2011 at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.

HAR has presented the award since 1967. Winners are honored for their achievements to their local board, community, state association, and the National Association of REALTORS®.

On the local level, Osorno has been an active participant on the Finance and Budget Committees. He led the Building Loan and Refinance Committee that paved the way for the REALTORS® Association of Maui to buy their own building, and his proven leadership prompted the board to choose him as the REALTOR® Broker of the Year in 2006.

Felix’s past experiences include being a member of the Board of Directors of various banks on the U.S. mainland and Maui, past President of the original Bank of Maui, and a former business restaurant owner with restaurants in Kahului and Kihei, Maui.

Felix served the state association in such leadership positions as Treasurer, Finance Committee Chair, and Audit Committee Chair.

He is a dedicated volunteer at his church and he also served in the United States Air Force at military bases in Texas; Michigan; Tripoli, Libya and with Lockheed In Sunnyvale, California, with the USAF Space Program.

FHA ANNOUNCES NEW LOAN LIMITS TO TAKE EFFECT OCTOBER 1ST

Loan limits for most areas of the country will remain unchanged

The Mortgagee Letter is effective from October 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011. However, if legislation is enacted to extend the current FHA-insured loan limits, which expire on September 30, 2011, the Department will publish a Mortgagee Letter which defines the most recent loan limits for both FHA-insured forward mortgages and HECMs. As in previous years, Alaska, Hawai'i, Guam, and the Virgin Islands may have higher loan limits.
