The Political Communications Network's (PCN) purpose is to build strong on-going relationships with lawmakers to help communicate important issues with them. The program is founded on the belief that REALTORS® can help shape public policy through generating quality contacts with the Governor, Lieutenant Governor and each of the 76 members of the Legislature. There are two main programs that make up the PCN:
State Political Coordinator Program
State Political Coordinators (SPC) are the "Voice of Real Estate" in Hawai'i with their designated state legislator. The most important aspect of being an SPC is having a positive and personal relationship with an elected official that promotes a sense of mutual respect and familiarity. When a key issue is being introduced by HAR or is being considered, SPC's are mobilized to relay HAR's position to their legislator.
REALTOR® Legislative Day
Every year SPC gather at the State Capitol to meet with lawmakers to promote the year's legislative program.
